Every gal has a best feature she wants to play up, and then there's that pesky feature sitting prominently on your face that you wish you didn't have. If you think your eyes are too large, there are ways to improve those less-than-perfect peepers, and no, it doesn't involve a budget-busting trip to a plastic surgeon. If you have protruding eyes and the Bart Simpson look isn't exactly your thing, fight the battle of the bulge with a simple illusion.
- Apply your highlight shade to the brow bone. That's the area just under the arch to the end of the brow. Blend with a medium eyeshadow brush. The concept of using highlighter in this area is to make it pop forward by catching the light. Highlights bring your features forward.
- Apply your midtone shade beginning at the lash line and work it up and over the full lid, all the way up to the brow bone. Use a large eyeshadow brush; it blends the shadow into the lid better. Try to achieve a subtle fade as you get closer to the brow area.
- Apply the darkest contour shade beginning at the lash line, and work it across your lower lid and into the crease of your eye. Apply a little of the dark contour shade around the outer edge of the eye and underneath the lower lash, but stop at the midway point, just under your iris. Blend the shadow well with a large or angled-edge eyeshadow brush. The contour shade across the lid helps to recess a bulging or more prominent eye shape.

Tips & Tricks
Don't worry about matching your eye makeup with your clothing. Think of your eyeshadow as an accessory to you; it's not meant to complement your wardrobe.
